when i changed mine i used a 40 ton iron worker electric hydraulic shear press. i was able to press a few out whole and a few blew apart and left the ring in like your broken one. i ended up using one of the ones that came out whole to press the rings out. i took a grinder to one that i used as the press tool to make the diameter slighty smaller so it would push out the other one and not get stuck in the rod arm
