In the 15th CEB, '67-'69, we had 2 types of bridge trucks, one for pontoon bridges and one for Bailey bridges. Until an attack in the '68 Tet Offensive we had about 30. The problem was they were parked shoulder-to-shoulder and a mortar hit a fuel tank (mogas) and they started going up like Dominos (not the pizza kind). One brave soul jumped into one that was burning and drove it out of line, saving 25 other trucks.
After the '68 Tet we didn't need all of them again because we left our pontoons in place on QL4 just south of Saigon. As far as I know it is still there.
