Pretty sure this has been covered before, pintle on the 5 ton's are 25 ton pintle hooks.

35 ton pintle minimum 50 ton is bulletproof and only a couple of bucks more. I had a 35 and switched to the 50. Much happier with the 50

Considering the shock loading you can get on a pintle hitch; the ultimate load is going to be 1.5X minimum and is probably 2X or more. Squirt-Truck is right. You will pull the hitch off the back of the truck first.
