Default M923A1 Insurance

I have a 1985 M923A1 in Southern Maryland. I just got my title from GL and now am looking to get insurance then tags. So can anyone tell me a company that will insure my new rig for a reasonable price?

I got a quote from Maryland Auto Insurance for $900 per year. That's a little too much for me to have fun a couple times a month.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Do a search. There is dozens of posts on the subject. I have mine thru Gulfway . My 6 trucks full coverage is about the same or less than your quote for 1. By the way welcome to SS!

I see a ton of m35A2 insurance questions. But since the 923 is starting to flood the market, I haven't seen too many threads addressing the M939 series 5 tons for insurance. Don't imagine full air brakes would impact insurance rates too much, but you never know.
I would like to hear what the State Farm guys are paying for insurance. I know several have Gulfway and other collector vehicle type insurance. To me there's just way too much gray area with those guys restricting your possible coverage should you have an accident
"Hey you have a box in the bed of your truck...you can't have cargo...sorry, you're not covered"
"Hey you weren't on your way to a show of some sort, sorry you got into an accident...we can't cover you"
"Oh you aren't storing your truck in garage? Oh we can't cover your accident that was 20 miles from your house"
You get what I'm saying.

Thanks for the responses everyone! I do appreciate it.

I called Gulfway and left a message.

I am not too sure about JC Taylor, as wsucougarx says, they are a lot of rules to abide by. I do not think that is the best choice for me since I am using mine to haul firewood.

I like keeping my options open so any other suggestions would be great.

Thanks again everyone, Happy Holidays!!

I use JC Taylor insurance for all my military trucks.
I have historic tags.
But you do have to have a locked building for them.

Safeco. About $12 per month. You will need a professional insurance agent, not some idiot fill in the blank type. The first time an agent says they can't, reply "NEXT".

I have all my insurance at the same State Farm agent, so many discounts applied. But my '85 M923 is about $49 every six months registered and insured as a historic MV / Antique / collector. Of course I can't operate it commercially and am limited to 2,000 miles per year (wink, wink). I guess it depends on what you plan to do with it, and how you tag it.
