Hey guys,
I got out and work on the M246 today and finally pulled the PTO off to find that the was a gear the was broke off. I found the Gear in the TM9-2320-211-34-2-3 on page 17-816 under part five but it does not list the part name. I need to fine this part to repair my PTO can any of you guys help. I know a local salvage yard that has some busted PTO's (housings are busted and cracked). If he's open tomorrow I'll see if they are 5ton or 2.5 pto's and see if that gear is good. If he's not open tomorrow it will be friday before I can get there.
I do not know the exact name; it could be a countershaft gear, idler gear, or drive gear. Since you have good photos, I would send them to info@memphisequipment.com and see what they say. Another possibility is onfo@SamWinerMotors.com in Akron, Ohio. They specialize in winches.
