I hope this is in the right section of the Forum, I have a chance to pick up a sweet looking 916A1 through Federal Surplus Property and know nothing about them. We have been running Mack 5 tons for years and are ready to upgrade.

This Truck has 40,000K on it and is complete and running. 400 HP Detroit, Allison HT740 Tranny, Oshkosh Front axle and 2 speed Transfer case. Everything is there and works. The truck spent it's life at Fort Devans Ma and just became available. I would love to strip it to the frame and mount a dump body to it and haul gravel. Maybe even put a front plow on it and plow the roads.

Any advie would be helpfull.
