The only issue I see with these are you need a second MV to use them.

We have several folks in the ATL area with these items just not always with the time to come during the week.

As for the slave cables, I still think buying the original is about even with making your own using used welding cable. I personally would just buy an original set. Even with that said, unless you have a second vehicle nearby that can slave you off, they're no good. I posted last fall about going to WR and having the batteries die on me in a McD parking lot. Ended up getting started by having another large truck tow start me.

The towbar is not really needed unless you plan on getting a deuce. Reason is, we saw the issue of towing a 1009 with a 1009. It ain't the most exciting thing I've done but the pucker factor during some stopping situations makes life interesting. I use mine probably more than the average person on here and so far this year have used it 4 times and loaned it out once and about to use it another time next month. So they just aren't used that much.

You're going through a tough spell with your truck. Once it gets going, you most likely will be able to keep it going.

I'm the opposite, my summer months are pure HE!!. In addition to this, we are about to embark on a huge project at work that is/will significantly affect my time off. I appologize for not being able to get back up sooner to provide a slave start.

Hang in there. There are a lot of really good folks in the ATL area that can help.
