Well, there has always got to be a first for everything hasent there?

I tool the ferret out to the Good Guys hot rod show here in Kansas
City this weekend. It was held at the Kansas Speedway. For those that
dont know, that is only a few miles from my house actually.

The first first this weeknd was the ferret actually at the good guys
kansas car show.

You can only imagine, me and the ferret out in a filed with apporx
3,000 nice shinny hot rods. I was the only mil-veh there, and the
only armoured vehicle there too.

They have a thing called cruise the track after most of the public
show is over. That is where you line up and in groups you get to
drive your vehicle around the track at what ever speed you are
comfortable at. The track is a 1.5 mile track, pretty decent banked
tuirns and a dog legged front straight.

So yeah, I took the ferret out on the track! I now hold the record
for the fastest lap in an armoured vehicle around Kansas Speedway!

Here is a pic of me lined up and ready to go, sitting around all the
other regular cars.

I also have a short video of the ferret on the track at the whopping
top speed of 50 mph!

I can ell you that the ferret DOSENT like the banked turns. I took it
up on the banking,,,NOT reccomended! ITs top heavy enough and banked
turns, high speed....not a good idea.

If you want to see the video, let me know and I will send it to ya.

Oh and also driving around the area I ranacross the Kansa City, MO
armored tactical vehicle. It is a bear, if your not familiar with it,
I believe it is a 16 ton freightliner chassis with lots or armour. It
is a personell carrier basiclly. I pulled up behind him and realiszed
what it was, so after the light turned green I got beside him. We
stopped at the next light and HE motioned to me like he wanted to
race!!!???? Were on! And yes, a ferret, as heavy and slow as it is,
will out accelerate a bear and leave it in the dust! I have a pic of
it, as we passed it. My son was up in the turret and snapped the pic
you see.
H was headed to a ball park where we had another mil-veh show tonite.
It was directly acorss the street from the race track matter of fact.

Over all, a hell of a day, and I am going back out to the show
tomorrow!!!

and yes, my face STILL hurts from grinning so much running a ferret
around a nascar track!!!

great story-what a blast that day sounds-we ran a ferret down the 1/4 mile at santa pod-not too lively but lots of smiles were seen.
we did a film job using ferrets and a host opf other kit-'the fourth angel' there no fun to drive in the rain, not because of the drifts or power/weight slides but because the rain drips right where you REALLY don,t want it to.
great fun vehicles...:jumpin:

Sounds like a great day. I'm always looking for something fun to do with the ferret because it is so different.

My nephew just graduated high school and on senior prank day, I drove him and his Buddy ( class president) to school in the ferret waving the flag. The entire school loved it

But I still gotta find a racetrack to run

Ferrets are nice vehicles if the British technology works (when ist works, it works fine). As they are made asscout cars, the acceleration is quite well. And US truck to European understanding nowadays are slightly underpowered. Or how would you call a 16 ton truck with 290 hp?
