shes a bitch to start

i have a 1969 M715 and shes a bitch to start...

she fires on the button but dies shortley after.

i have put in new coil condenser and plugs,

cleaned everything
new carb (second hand) off a runner. holly 1921...

can any one shed any light on what i may need to do... thanks

Here are a few things to check:

1. Gap between the ignition points
2. Spark present at the spark plugs?
3. Ignition timing
4. since you said it dies after starting, check for voltage at the coil with ignition switch in run(bad contacts in switch)

that's all i can think to check right now.
