Starting surges and overload testing my 006a with video
I am putting one of my MEP-006a generators up for sale; I thoroughly test them before selling them. Thought I would throw together a condensed video of the testing that I do. The video demonstrates a cold start, warmup, stepped load test (0-60 kW in 10 kW increments followed by several hours at 60 kW), surge test (0-60 kw in one step), overload test (0-72 kW in one step), starting surge (30 HP electric motor starting across each single phase), and waveform analysis (oscilloscope showing each phase steady state and during the starting surge).
I love hearing the turbo on these machines scream when you hit them with a big load!
