Default MEP 701A parts source

Hello all,

I'm thinking of buying an MEP 701A. Does anybody have a good parts source for this genset???? Would I be better off buying an MEP 002A?

Thanks
Matt

Apples/oranges. 701A is a single cylinder 3kW, 002A is a twin cylinder 5kW.
701A weighs about 535 pounds, 002A over 1000lbs.
701A is a 3600RPM machine, 002A is an 1800RPM machine, but the 3600RPM engine has good efficiency, too.

I prefer the MEP-016D, which is the MEP-016A(originally gasoline) with a Yanmar Diesel motor. My main reason for preferring the Yanmar is the pull rope. The 701A can be fitted with a Yanmar, too.

To answer your question I've gotten 701A parts on ebay. Onan parts are not too hard to find but Yanmar parts seem to be much more plentiful.

They can be hard, yes ebay and tracking down the part by the manufacturer on the part itself. I have a bad DC breaker and took forever to track down someone that sold it.

And SS classifieds of course.
