Plan D: Lowboy from Ft. Benning to Rock Island IL area? - Steel Soldiers::Military Vehicles Supersite

Well, I've been amused as my Plan A recovery of '87 M109 fell afowl of IP problems and blown head gasket. Am talking with a fellow who may be able to repair it but need to work Plan D.

Plan C was self-recovery with an M35A3 at Huntsville, but it has fuel problems and it's time to have a plan if it can't be brought online.

So Plan D is a lowboy to recover the van at Columbus GA and pick up the 35A3 on the way past Huntsville area.

Anybody know a hauler that can handle this as a backhaul?

Might have to head down to Benning to take an IP and head gasket kit.

Frustrating, but still entertaining.

You're going to have to at least get it off base to pull the head off.

Papabear has offered help in Columbus.

Considering the multiple fail modes of this project, I'm still keeping an eye out for a lowboy that could haul the 109 and a 35A3... if the A3 can't be readied to make the haul.

I appreciate the help all you guys are offering.

Then again, I could slip it over the curb and blow it in place.
