The tavern was owned by a former marine who had hosted a yearly celebration since he was discharged in the 70's up till he passed on in 2002. His family has kept the party going serving food to all that attend.

Thats GREAT.... I am Glad to hear that these things still go on.

A local bar wich was owned by a Marine use to give out one Free beer a day to any Marine who came in uniform.....


When did the Marines start using M-16 s for firing details ? I know in the Late 80s we were still using M-14s with white parade slings.

not sure on the use of M16's but it was still impressive as they did have a 21 gun salute that day
