Default help for users with firewalls.. ports pls..

I have restricted many ports on the home router due to annoyances from the internet. Unfortunately GL seems to use one I am not familiar with for the LOGIN function.

What port is necessary to be open on the user's computer to have success when clicking on LOGIN ? It is between 111 and 8079. I sort of don't want to try all of them..

if its https it should be port 443. I would try that one first before turning your FW into a sieve. I really can't think it would be anything else...

but it is GL after all..

maybe someone a little smarter than I can chime in...

That is it.. 443 must be permitted. Thanks.

There is something, actually many thousands of somethings, out there that keep trying port 36177 here. I think it's bad juju. Too bad there is no way to IP-elecro-bomb them back to 'dos on a diskette'.

Look at this mess, only 12 minutes worth:

Im glad you got it solved!

it looks like a bot somwhere is doing a heavy port scan...

I watch my firewall's outside interface somtimes at work and it astonishes me how much we get scanned!
