I forget what, but something in the VIN makes it look like an S10 series Pickup or Blazer. They get confused by that. Tell them it is an ex Government vehicle and all should be well. (At least that was all State Farm needed to hear from me years ago)

Not out of the ordinary for the insurance folks to not have mil vehicles in their database. The database was started in the early 70's but have all units listed in it until the early 80's. Your vehicle should be a 1984-6 so it should be in the database. For some reason yours got missed. Another potential is that it was used by the Navy or Air Farce. CIA....unlikely.

There is nothing wrong with your vin number. It decodes exactly as it should. You can go here and print this post off or find a civi shop manual from the 80's and copy the same info. Like others have said, the D for military in the 5th digit is probably not in the insurance company's database.

You didn't say what year you had on the title. It decodes to a 1986.
