If you have ever hand your hands on a cargo bar - use this to push the sides together - drill the old rivet out - even enlarge the old one and go to the next size - then rivet the new in - this will pull the metal together. No cargo bar - use a 2x4 as a lever - filling all the holes in the box with rivets and then (here we go again not having trucks back from the paint shop) paint the interior desert tan - all the holes will be filled solid.

One roof rack fabrication completed - screen has to be welded on the other #2 sides - then a good cleaning - primer and paint. Will not pre drill the footpads till we find the exact placement for them - then drill and attach/same as the ladders.

That is what I like about this site - straight forward and seeing everyone's ideas - you can make them your own to fit your needs - or just change em up and go with it.

Default Updating Shop Van Internal Electrical Components?

Any conceptual changes for changing/replacing these components from the electrically minded?

APS2424 - PowerVerter APS Inverter/Charger with Auto-Transfer Switching

This my solution to the power in the 109 box. I don't want to run a generator so I picked up this 2400 watt inverter charger on amazon for around $580. It will run almost all of my ac needs and will recharge my 4, 6volt, deepcycle batteries when plugged into line voltage. It's 24 volt input so at highway speed the truck alternator will supply dc power to run the air conditioner and fridge in the box. I will remove the original converter box and rewire to the new inverter mounted under the seating benches.

Great idea for relocation of the box.

Spent the afternoon grinding down the cargo top box racks and ladders - then acid washing them all - then sprayed bed liner coating on them - will have about 3 coats on them when finished.
Trucks getting painted has been a patience issue but I know there is an end nearly in site - cannot wait to post pics of them DONE finally - and then get started on all the fabrication.
My garage is full of items to install including the 4 KW genset from the RV to mine in place of the tool box under the drivers door and for my friends to the upper cargo rack that I built.
More to come shortly.

Tried to get close enough pics of the racks and ladders with the bed liner coating on them - hooked up the primer spray gun and narrowed down the spray to eliminate the "fan" spray and more of a circular spray. Did thin it out with laq thinner. Shot it with 3 good coats and used almost the gallon of spray. I can always paint over these now and have a good solid base under the paint.

I included the rattle can type trigger for those who are not aware of its existance - I guess almost everyone here is though - makes it really easy on the trigger finger if you have 1 or more cans to spray.

The marker lights I will just add the pics - my friends truck will get the Mil stype markers in place of the reflectors and I am sticking the raised on mine - these are led 24 volt lights.
