Default slacker

SO you sit back and ask what the slacker has been doing with this unit ?
Been working on my buddies rig since picking it up Sun - so here are pics before I get hammered.

Its a little over 98 and whatever the other effects of the heat are - its hot.
GOOD NEW is - we have been waiting for paint - they will get painted for us in a booth (so my lungs can live another day). Building the Canadian style cab racks at this time (sorry no pics till done) and I still have the generator to hack up in the cargo box like I mentioined.
As you can see - getting his prepped so we can get them painted and continue on - I am hoping I can get these to the point we can go the GA RALLY and meet all the other fantatics and see how far behind we are in having decent rigs.

Default Love your camper project!

I just got a 109 as well! For a while I'm going to make it into a shop for ALL my tools! Then I think It will become a camper!

Great job!

Finished the body work on my friends M109A3 last night and got the dash taped up for painting - mine has been ready except for a hardtop - waiting till one falls from sky - cannot bring myself to pay over $200 for one and even at that one that is not rusted out or dented.

Here is the rack I am in the process of building for his unit - used the Canadian site to get an idea of dimensions and durability.
I have the open cut diamond screen to weld into the outer wall - going to set it in place before I make final shims and drill. You will notice I stole the tie downs off my unit and mounted them to the lower outside rail so a tarp could be easily tied down - and it gives an appearance of 109 items to it -= just my .02 cents worth of an idea.
enjoy the pics.

Default rack install day

Here are some pics of the rack lifted and set into place on top of the cab - still have drilling and windshield spacers to make & bolt into place - then it is off to paint they go.

Is your box crooked or is the truck parked on an incline? If the box IS crooked how would a body go about fixing that condition?

Pawn - it is really a cockass*** incline in my backyard and drive.
Great Eyeballing this - the tandems are on flat ground on the passenger side - the drivers side tandem are sitting on the incline
Then the steer passenger is sitting down hill and the drivers is sitting up hill - so from hardtop to the bottom of the rack are exact and the 4 corners are exact mounting on cab.
Slap me silly - I will get pics sitting on level ground so you know my head was not jerking nor my head mounted crooked when I installed this.

End of day - Have a couple more bolts on the lower windshield mount to drill with collars and its like the yellow brick road - off to paint they go by middle of the week.
Then to get stripping down my RV and getting my buddy his parts and working on the real stuff.
Sure would like them ready to be 1/2 way respectable and go to the Ga Rally

I thought so, the cab and rack looked straight but the box behind it is askew. I have a friend with a M35A2 that has a crooked bed (on level ground) and I am trying to figure out how to fix that, hopefully it can be done without removing the bed...

Pawn - take pics of the bed mounting area's and "filler strips both sides"
Measure the frame to bottom of the additional bed frame.
Sometimes the wood filler strip is not countersunk where the top frame crossmember carriage head bolts protrude on the top of the frame - thus the wood filler strips should be countersunk to lay flat onto the frame. The bottom of the add on bed is always free of bolts and should lay flat onto the strips.
Mine was lazily done and they just laid the wood strips on top of the bolts and bolted it down - these can be as much as 3/4 difference all the way down each side of the bed to frame mounting -
Take some pics if you can of these area's - see if we can figure it out to get it square

Default patience

Been trying to be really patient while the trucks are down at the paint shop. Should be back in our hands before the end of the month.
Have 2 - 50 gallon add on fuel tanks with mount brackets and straps to get installed - new batteries for one of them. Have the Mil Trucklights to install - have my dash gun mounts to install - Have my shower removed from the RV and get that installed.
Have design for the bed/storage units in each one. generators are good to get installed.
Just been trying to be patient - waiting to dig into them - but the paint jobs ought to be awesome.
Decals ordered with stencil kits for them also - new mufflers are here - on & on & on.
