Drove to Memphis yesterday and drive er back to Atlanta - 330 miles and two rainstorms later along with the heat of Mississippi. Spent 4 hours pressure washing the oxidization off the exterior and the mess from the inside. Now to start purchasing parts.
Pressure washing the interior needed to be done badly. The flooring is all buckled and some good gaps in it. I am a Fleet Manager for a trucking company and have access to trailer flooring and I have all the tools. So it looks like the floor is getting replaced first. I also need to get that rust off er and sandblast and get that sealed up as well. There sure was a great deal of equipment MIA from the rig - there was a new CamelBack jammed behind the seats - finders keepers. No 1911's stuff in the seats though - that was too bad.
Needs windshield seals replaced and the rubberized cab cover sealed with something to tighten it up from water.
Really thinking on the terms of a survival rig with the camping set up in mind. Going to eventually need a trailer for everything we have saved for survival.
Oh yeah - CAMO is for sure on the list and not far from the TOP ^
been looking at patterns and what everyone has on their rigs - I remember using lace years ago building choppers and air brushing through the pattern - I have the wife looking for camo fabric to use to lay out a pattern somewhere down the road - dark green connects to the - light green - light green connects to the - light gray - this is FUN
My friend is going back before 30 days are up and picking up the Marine unit 109 - we got them for less than 2400 - and mine ran back without a flaw. We were discussing that as we rode back YELLING acrost the cab - sure has the looks we should be there. There are guys out there much wiser on the setups than I am - so the listening hat is on & been reading old posts
