I'm looking for 7-foot and 9 foot CX-4723 cables. One each. I've tried Fair Radio and a few other places, but no luck. The only length I can find is 18 feet! Any suggestions out there?? If I have to, I can use something longer within reason.
I would also be interested in picking up one more C-2298 that isn't beat up.
Funny you should mention these cables - I just started looking for an extra one today to take the 18 pin connectors from, as I'm intending to hook two ham rigs into the VIC-1 I'm installing in one of my M35's (well, one ham rig and one GRC-106). I've typically seen 10 foot cables in the past; where did you find 18 foot cables? I could purchase one of those and cut it in half for my applications.
You could also shorten a long one for your application; Fair Radio has a tool for taking the connectors apart that would allow you to customize the cable for your application. I think the locking ring tool was $20.
The longest Fair Radio has is 5 feet so unless I can stretch it... I don't want to fuss cutting one down unless I absolutely have to. I'll keep searching and hope someone on this list points me in the right direction.
Interesting the HMMWV uses cables that long. I bought the 18 foot cable that was on eBay from Canada - and use in the HMMWV makes sense, given the date on the sealed plastic bag - 2001.
