CARNAC will become famous soon enough
Default Access to Eglin

Called Eglin yesterday reference my pickup and was informed new base access procedures are now in effect as of this past Tuesday.

I'm good to go but wanted to post this out there for others so you can take prudent measures to call and ensure you will be able to get on for a pickup.

If you got VIN info, I'm currently asking for any donations made to be sent to the GENE VANCE FOUNDATION FOR WOUNDED WARRIORS. Here;'s the link:

CARNAC, you and Mr. Carson are able to devine the question to your answer, but for us mear mortals, what are the new requirments?

I've been to eight or nine different GL site locations. For each and everyone, I had to schedule an appointment, have proper valid state issued ID, vehicle registration card, and proof of insurance, though no one has ever looked at the insurance card.

What's changed, as I would like to know before charging off for a recovery and being turned away.

I don't know what has been changed but if you use the main gate Eglin has always made you wait till someone from G/L comes and escort you in. Wayne

I think it would be wise to call the "Post" or "Base" ahead of time before going for any recovery. Access changes all the time, and can be different from base to base. Do not rely on what GL tell you. We all know how reliable they are.

OK I have most of the answers for you guys. I was just there Wednesday to pick up my Air Compressor.

There are 2 forms that need to be filled out at least 3 days before you are picking up.

1- Eglin AFB Contractor Access Badge Affidavit
2-Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification

There are links attached to these in your invoice.

Fax them in to ERIC 1-850-678-1501

You will need to call ERIC and schedule an appointment. He will need to put you on the list for that day with Eglin Security.

GL staff member will need to escort you into the base once you clear the visitor center.
