Welcome to the site. Are you looking for a u-fix project, a fresh from uncle sam adventure, or ??? There are several auction options: Government Liquidation (Govliquidation.com), GSA (GSA.gov), and local government (see your newspaper legal/auctions section). As for a u-fix project, there are numerous scrap dealers near Ft Hood who can get you into a rolling wreck . . .

Your best bet is probably Government Liquidation, there are numerous trucks coming up at Ft Sam in San Antonio. Take a day off work and drive down there and see what you are getting yourself into. The winch trucks have been bringing over 2K, but usually $1600.
If you plan on getting into mud you for sure need a winch because you will be using it.
