l1a1,
It would be pretty hard. There were some Malaysian Saladins/Saracens that were converted to diesels and possibly automatic transmissions, but I am pretty sure the parts to do it are very hard to find. I've never heard of an engine/transmission swap being done. There are a few places in the US to get parts, and it's not THAT hard to get them.
There was a Saracen on Marcus glenn a few weeks ago for 5500$ or so. mk6... Ship it over here and it's a wrap.

not sure about the Saracen, but we converted a Saxon to an allison and a 6bt at work two years ago. Also did a Mamba to a 4bt and a five speed the same time. It wasnt any harder than any other engine swap on anything and the performance was much better.

The Saxon is a big funky looking 4x4 truck, just like the vehicle it replaced (Humber pig) so engine swaps aren't that hard.
It's a little more complicated for the Saracen/Saladin.

"Also the Ferret without a cannon? "
There was no ferret with a cannon, Ferrets had a .30cal browning/GPMG machinegun (Mk 1/2 had a .303 bren)., the Fox which was the replacement for the ferret had a cannon and a jaguar power plant.

Darn nice looking trucks. This is my face now, Did not expect that price tag. Will start looking at the Ferrets.
