Default In search of obscure Bosch Fuel Filter

Greetings,

I have a 5-ton Steel Soldier from Switzerland built by FBW in 1938. First of four built for the Wehrmacht and never delivered. It has 16,000 original Kilometers and starts, runs, drives, and stops. In the process of servicing this truck, I've found the finding the fuel filter is proving difficult.

The Bosch number is 1.457.431.270.

I've found a company that requires I buy 12 and to wait 2 weeks, but other than that, I've found nothing but references to it in cross reference indexes. Those filters are also obscure and I can't find any of them.

And since everyone likes a photo or two, see attached.

Can anyone help? Thanks much,

Den

WOW....hooey, what a find. And it looks virtually new. Do you have a picture of the filter itself, mabe one of us may recognise something that might replace it like some odd filter for a Corvair, or an irrigation pump or some obscure thing that will interchange That company 'Grainger' may have something that will fit, they are heaven for unusual and common things/stuff.

Wow, cool find, very beautiful truck. I always wonder why they built these with right hand drive (the later built swiss Saurer trucks, too).

Try to google the number without dots, i.e. 1457431270 and filter.

you get urls like
Main Filter Group - Largest online filter store
or
Luftfilter und Ölfilter für lkw > EVOBUS / KAESSBOHRER/SETRA > SG 200-Serie > SG219SL1985-MAN D 2866 TUH

and many others.

Hope that helps,
Mark

Did some more looking, and the Baldwin PF950 should work.

As well, the Deutz 1289054; International 3059245-R91; Mercedes-Benz 4777901; Volvo 233239

OT: interesting hangar you have there, is that a Fieseler Storch and a SdKfz 251 on the pictures?

Outstanding. Thank you for all of the great info. I know what to do now come business hours tomorrow!

To answer Roger-Wilco-66, you're very close. The plane is actually an L-60SF Brigadyr post war version of the Fieseler Storch. It's painted in the Afrika theater paint scribble pattern and I've owned it about 4 years. The 251 is actually a Czech OT-810 that my friend Geoff owns. He's spared no expense to convert it to a D-model 251. Further in the back is a Unimog 404 funker of mine and Geoff has also a Borgward B2000 and a Kubelwagen. If you Google "German Halftrack" his 251/OT-810 site will come up at the top. You can see what we do with these things.

It beats collecting stamps, but then you all know about that sort of brain damage we share.

Attached are some photos of the Brigadyr.

Thanks again everyone!
