Star washers

I'm looking for a few good washers (McMasters doesn't have them), hardened, cad plated, internal external tooth, for 1/4, 5/16 and 3/8 bolts.
Perhaps 25-50 of each size.
Anybody know a supplier?

Have you tried Fastenall? I get all my grade 8 from them they are a chain: We have a few stores nearby let me know if you need me to pick them up for you.

Thanks fellows, both Fastenal and Nutsandbolts carry the plain zink coated carbon steel washers, same as McMasters.
I called Fastenal and was told that the cad plated mil-spec washers are available on special order only.
Still looking....

The fastenal link has obviously changed, the only star washers I see on their site now are:

You weren't kidding, I thought I'd try my luck there, did a search, and came up with a blank page. Not even a "unable to find" message. I'll ask some of my vendors at work, see if they can come up with something. Requests for these washers come up quite often.

So does that mean that the mil spec cad plated ones just don't exist, or they are financially prohibitive?

Can the zinc plated ones be used as a substitute for the cad plated units?

They need to be hardened to do the job. The plating is less important. Aircraft Spruce has some mil spec washers; Washers from Aircraft Spruce

Don't know if ite been mentioned yet ( I didn't read all the replies ) but Tom at Snake River 4X4 carries the square washers also

What size fastener are these needed for C?

I have a source. I bought 1/4 and 3/8 from them. I don't have the info on 5/16, but I'm sure they can look up the p/n based on the below information.

They have internal and they have external, but not internal/external.

I think having a selection of 1/4", 5/16", 3/8" and 1/2" would be sufficient. I use these for proper grounding on various electrical projects and I want to use the right stuff (cad plated, hardened, internal/external tooth, etc.).

I may create a thread later today based on this question, but since Lex was nice enough to provide these part #'s, I have a (few) question(s):

1. Is there a place where I can look up what an item is by part # or NSN? I never have any luck googling NSN/#'s and getting anything other than govt. contractor sites. I need somewhere that will actually say MS45904-76 is a 3/8" OD, internal/external tooth washer.

2. Does anyone know the #'s (preferably the MS #) for the 5/16" or 1/2" int/ext washers?

3. Can anyone identify the following MS #'s:

Whenever I try to identify either MS or NSN #'s, all I can find are contractor sites that show they can order them and occassionally what they cost and that's it-there is never a description of the item.

I research car parts for a living-and I've done it for a while. I am not bad at it. In fact, I am pretty good. But I've had no luck finding a way to identify a lot of this stuff. If I am missing something obvious, show me and I'll take my ribbing.

Of ALL the first page results, only wbparts.com and parttarget.com had any specs (and I must have missed them before, or I searched a different # that they didn't have).

There has to be some kind of central place to research this stuff.

Other than those being zinc plated and me being after cadmium plated, they would work. I am being real picky about what I want, since it's going on this:
