Sterling DDS150 Torpedo Crane

Just find a pic of this rare truck, it looks to have been shot in 2010... Maybe someone in the US get it and save it!

Its the first photo tha I had discovered of a surviving truck of this type.

The font fenders look similar. Not sure about the front axle.

That Sterling is safe at the Yaworski truck museum in Connecticut. It is not a DDS150, it is a civilian model with a non driving front axle. The boom appears to be similar though. You can find a couple of surviving DDS150's in this thread:

Thanks for the reply. You are right, the front axle was a suspect point...! The link was great, nice to see one of them with a better future on sight!

I didn't know about the "Yaworski truck museum". Went on a little search, but I read that part of the "more restorable" collection is gone. From the photos in a Flickr album, the "Haul of Fame" of old trucks looks to be more or less intact, but is sorrow to see a lot of rare trucks, more or less "intact" rusting away. At least from the time being, they seem to be safe from the scrapman, but it would be fantastic that at some could be pu under a roof...

That is probably the place where another rare truck is, as my first Sterling photo were in the same author Flickr set. A Autocar U-70/90 equiped with the same Garwood crane frame and boom of the Federal C-2 and Sterling wrecker:
