To Girdle, or Not To Girdle...? This is the question.

Looking for some wisdom and insight here on my upcoming Banks Sidewinder install in the M1008. I've read here on SS that it is recommended to install a Stud Girdle Kit to the bottom end of the motor when adding a turbo to these motors, but have also read on other sites that they are not worth the money and don't actually do much to help. The only pre-manufactured kit I've seen is this one from DSG Manufacturing. I've read that the metal used in these kits is cheap, making it not worth it.

I've searched and have not come across a good consensus for or against this part. On a budget here for this project but also want it to last and be durable. Thoughts?

Sound off!
