intermittant wiper repair

I installed a tilt wheel with intermittent wipers on my 1009. The parts were from an 87 suburban. when I reconnected the wiper motor and tried to use them, the motor started smoking.

The first motor that I smoked was the original one from the 1009, I changed this motor with the one from the burb and it did the same thing. I am in need of a wiring schematic for the intermittent wipers if anyone has one.

I replaced the switch in the steering column before installing. The only other parts are the pulse module on the bottom of the steering column and the wiper motor and washer pump.

if anyone has any info on intermittent wipers it would be appreciated. definitely nothing in the TM's for this one I need to get this fixed so I can get it inspected.

thanks
Rich
