Just bought a HIMARS cab

Just picked up this HIMARS cab. Thought it would look good on an FMTV project I plan on doing. Anyone else seen these out there?

I recall when GL sold these out of Red River Depot about 3-4 years ago. I remember them bringing around $1000 ea. At the time, nobody had a use for them. There were about 30 or so of them.

I figure with the gov. Releasing more of the FMTVs it'll look good on a tractor model that I can tow my M50 Ontos with.

There's a new version of the HIMARS cab that doesn't look close to that anymore. But, I thought these were cooler. Plus, they look very similar to the MLRS cabs.

There was one on fleabay for a longtime but I couldn't bring myself to give them what they were asking. It looks good, keep us posted with pictures as you do this project. It'll be sweet.

I plan on mounting this cab on an m1088 and then mounting a knuckle boom crane behind it and make it the ultimate armored support vehicle.

Thatll be pretty sweet. I've got a couple Nos MK cabs I would like to put on an MTV chassis. My beyond busy schedule tells me otherwise.

Cool cab! I wondered if your himars cab would fit a Stewart Stevens M1079?

All FMTV cabs should be interchangeable. There may be some minor changes between the S&S and the Oshkosh version, but this cab is old enough it may be a S&S cab.

The cab was built by Lockheed martin and originally fitted for the S&S. It has a type of DuPont Kevlar lining called mpact. It protects against shrapnel and light small arms fire. The cab itself without the missile guidance equipment is actually lighter than the regular cab on a standard truck. It has a commanders hatch on the top. Just found a company that makes this grab bar with a pintle mount attachment for a scissor mount.
