I have seen them mounted in several places. On the two that I had, the rack was mounted on the drivers side, on the hood panel. Look there to see if there is any holes were it was mounted. It will cover the vents in the panel, but the rack will not stop the flow of air.

In the army they dont care about the paint so everyone would just climb up the hood on to the roof then climb on and grab your tools.

Some have the axe on one side under the cab and the shovel at the other side. I mean the (almost)vertical part of the step. I should have some pix of that...

hippiedude, there is a pioneer rack just like the deuce on my M211, but I can't remember which side it's on.
