In need of an antenna for a PRC-25

I got a PRC-25 (PRC-77 like) but the flexible ribbon antenna is toast. It is an antenna AT-892 if I remember right. It looks like Fair Radio does not have them. Anyone know where I could get a replacement. One of the joints on mine is bent up and will not allow the antenna to stand straight up. It tried viagra and my antenna is fine but the radio's antenna is still limp. Any help is appreciated. With finding the new antenna that is.

Post me a pic. Is this the flat type aboput 1/2" - 3/4" wide and maybe 2.5' long?
If so I had a couple, my son has been playing with them if I can find.

I could not find the antenna on Murphy's website but I will contact them to be sure.

That probably is the antenna. It is like a tape measure approx 1/2 inch wide and about 2.5 feet long. The end has a rubber base and threaded stud. The rubber part is marked Antenna at-982/prc-25.

The one in he pic is folded in half.

Can you read any of the stuff molded into the rubber part right at the end of the tape? Not the top of the antenna but at the bottom of the tape section. The small rubber piece transitions from the flat tape to the round threaded part that connects to the adapter. Your adapter is different so I would bet it is not the right antenna. I have one for a PRC-10 that looks similar but the tape is longer and the threads are different.

Here is one of the two that I have. I can't find the other one right now, son has it somewhere. I know the other one is in better shape or was when I picked it up. This one has a kinck towards the end.
That bottom end aint the right one for the PRC25 unless you have an adapter of some kind.

Steve haney has the antennas and goosenecks probably quite cheap.

A nick in the antenna of this type in meaningless from an operation standpoint. If it is annoying, you can put some heatshrink over it.

Right now the end of one side is bent and when the rivet moves below the bend it flops over. It works find and will probably get some heat shrink or electrical tape to hold it up but I would like to get an undamaged one. I will hold on to the damaged one as a spare. I think the correct antenna is 28 inches long.

Thanks

The antenna that Sermis has pictured is a SINCGARS antenna, but all you need to do is unscrew the base from the tape part, and your in business...

I figured that might be the case. Thanks. I got a couple of PRC-25's and for you picture hounds, I will try to post some later this weekend. I checked them out today and they picked up Ch2 and Ch4 audio from inside my basement. Now I need to get them aligned and generally PMed. I had then number of a guy in OH but have lost it. Anyone get a PRC25 or 77 aligned recently? If so how much did it cost and who did it? I also want to get my RT524 aligned at some point.
