Oregon Title issues-recent changes?

I was just informed by a large MV dealer (he is in Idaho but sells a lot of MV's to Oregon residents) that a recent Oregon resident bought an M936 (a wrecker I think) and was told AFTER he got plates for it, he would have to return his registration (and plates) as Oregon would now NOT honor that particular vehicle being able to be titles/registered in that state. Oregon did mention he could buy some type of "classic" plate, however I have no further details about that.
Anyone else heard of this?

if I were him I would request written document stating why my dmv tried that with my lmtv the clerk called anchorage and found out the restriction was only for euc's and sf 96's that showed off road use only. a lot if the small office clerks are reading that military vehicles are restricted but not reading the whole article until they are challenged.
