Cold temps didn't dampen anyone's spirits in Naperville for their St. Pats Day parade. A happy and cheering mile through the center of town with hardly any empty curb space.
There was the 'not so typical" concentrated group of 20 or so parents and children who refused to smile, wave, or salute the MV's, just gave forceful peace signs... but thats cool.
NICMVPA had a decent turn out even though not everyone had a warm Deuce cab, those open Jeeps, man.
The German army MV's came out too, but drove in a group of their own.
Lil Ruthie got a little more o'green decoration than usual, but nothing says St Pats Day like a 50cal on the roof... the kids just go wild over it!
I have to apologise to the chapter President in the open jeep right in front of us tho. It wasn't my fault. It was just that the kids kept wantin to hear the Deuce horn all the time, and doing that arm thing(beep your horn).

And what does it take to make an otherwise perfect day complete?... a full pat down and full cargo inspection on the way home! BTW it was a *999 cell call about a MV with civvy plates. Is this a real machine gun? Sure, all M2HB's weigh 5 lbs now and are made of space age plastic that looks just like PVC pipe... jeez!

Short NICMVPA video in the staging area.

Hopefully Mine will be ready for next years parade here. The only thing close to a MV was the USMC H3 that our Young Marines. were behind. It was about 80 here.

RE: St. Pattys Day

Mike,
Sure Mike I remember you.
Worthy of a thread of its own, soon to come.
But it involved all, local and state, a true three ring circus in the end. On the I355 Tollway in Lombard.

But I did get a police escort(which was cool) for the next 10 miles to LilRuthie's garage. He had to wave off the squads on the side of the road ahead waiting to make the 'Big MV' bust.

Judging from all the fuss, I can imagine what the car cell*999 call was like. "Blonde haired blue eyed terrorists driving 'brand new' looking MV with civvy plates. Oh yeah with Yosemite Sam 'Back Off' mudflaps." rofl

Readyman,
I LOVE the tires and wheels. Can you tell me what they are? A3 it looks like for the wheels. and where you got them. I would like to do the exact same thing.... someday. Thanks.

PS; I do not know why some guys get in trouble with there MVs with the police. I have NEVER even gotten more then a second look from any law enforcement in my M35. Except an occasional salute. I am sorry that people are having a hard time. We sure shouldn't be! Thanks.

Lax,
Yup, A3 front rims and tires. And the standard deuce rims with Michelin XL's on the rear. As the M35A3 gets retired out watch GL for the fronts, I'd look north to Canada for the 1100XL's, they are scarce here.

Yeah, its ok... just a concerned citizen in their car. The ISP was stumped and not taking any chances.

Thanks Readyman. I sure appreciate it. I am in Canada all the time on my way from NY to MI for business. I have no idea where to start looking but I will Monday when I pass through again. Thanks again.

PS; The truck looks great. I would love to know how the tires do in rain and or snow but I bet you keep little honey in on those days...

Dave,
I don't know if he's here. You can't imagine all the work in it to this point, engine rebuilt(it actually sits in the water), the story of the brake hydraulics is an adventure all it's own. I don't think he's even gotten to the rear section brakes yet. Seems nice and complete on the inside too.
