Hey all,

I'm the noob here... from St. Louis, MO

I am a member over on the Colorado K5 forums and I've been looking for an M1009 CUCV. Someone there suggested I check this site out.

Looks like an enormous amount of info and good stuff here!

One question... is there a classifieds section here? I looked through the forums but didn't really see anything. Maybe I'm losing my mind... but, the whole point is to get my hands on a CUCV so I just had to ask (remember, I'm the noob).

At the top of the page below the name is a box that says resources. Put your cursor on that and you will see the classified ads.

Welcome to the list. What are you looking for in a CUCV, RTR or something to build? If you watch the GSA site, here in MO they have them in various states of repair. Most are fire dept/forestry/law enforcement turnins, anywhere from running to strippers. They are usually located in Lebanon, MO. http://gsaauctions.gov/gsaauctions/gsaauctions/

I'm looking for a nv4500 for my '80 Chevy 3/4 ton 4X4. It's not military, but it is Government surplus, Dept. of Interior.

Wow, thanks for the leads guys! I'm set on the m1009 SUV version. I'm fine with one in just about any condition. It'd be great to find one in running condition but I don't mind if it's rough. Some time ago I set my sights on - any diesel SUV. Well, there aren't too many to choose from and the Sub's are just too big for what I need. The more I learned about CUCV's the more I liked them. Thanks for all your help... I'm going to check out those sites now!

Also check out www.govliquidation.com. I just picked up a M1008 from there for 1225.00 total. That is with their 10 percent surcharge and tax. It took a while for the EUC (end user's certificate) to clear. But I finally had my brother in law pick it up and bring it to me yesterday from Barstow CA. The M1008 has the beefier axles. I know that the M1009 is more practical if you have people riding with you. If you plan on doing some heavy wheeling, you may want to look into the M1008. Also welcome aboard to the site. This site is great. I found it on a google search when I was looking at buying a M1008.
