I just reinstalled the fuel tank and fuel tank skid plate back onto my M1008 and was wondering why there isn't a skid plate under the engine, transmission or transfer case...is there supposed to be one(or more) there?...if there is supposed to be something there, would anyone on this forum have such a thing for sale?...thanks...Wilf

There is supposed to be one under the transfer case but nothing under the tranny or engine. I have got a few of the t-case ones. pm me what you think is a fair price.

wow, i dont really know why i decided to look at such old posts, but you probably don't need a skid plate under the tranny because it is such strong metal. Also, these trucks weren't made for extreeme off roading, and so they don't have all the stuff you would like to be crawling around on rocks.

The pan on a Turbo 400 is pretty thin. It would not take much to puncture it. They had a plate on the tcase because it hangs down and could catch on stuff if the plate was not there.
