turned out pretty nice. Total time was about 2 hours. The bed is a lot bigger than it looks when you're on your knees with a scraper and wire brush!

Looks nice and clean now, no more rust. I also drilled an additional drain hole on each side, and enlarged the standard ones. They had, of course, become clogged and the bed would fill with water <img src="emoticons/icon_smilie_bitchin.gif" alt="Bitchin">

one quart did the whole bed, and I have some left for the canvas top supports, those were quite rusty on my truck

I've got just the pic for you- I prepped and painted one side, but left the other rusty and took a picture- it's quite a contrast!

Will upload tomorrow. The beauty of Por-15 (well, not if you want a smooth finish) is that you really should apply it on the rust, it warns that you don't want to sand it down to bare metal at all, or work the metal so much it become smooth. My bed had a previous coat of paint but most had rusted away so all I did was scrape any loose paint off, wire brush the stubborn spots and brush it on. No sandblasting or sanding here! The POR-15 is a good brush paint and doesn't leave many marks. Of course, it will need to be painted over as its meant as a basecoat and because it's pretty glossy. You could sand it down smooth for the topcoat though. Otherwise I love it!
