Is there any other way of telling who manufactured a Deuce besides the data plate???????

I have a Deuce that says its made by Kaiser Jeep on data plate, and the title says AM General. Vehicle ID # is the same on both.

My truck dont show any year or date is was made either. So I was wondering if there is a back-up ID some where else

I would also be very interested in this! I was just talking to Todd about this last night, it seems my previous identification of my Deuce might be a bit off. The guy we bought it from specialized in turning 2-3 parts trucks into one running truck. When we bought it, he asked my dad what year he wanted it to be, and presto, the appropriate data plate was installed! Heheh.
So anywho, I now have no idea what it really is....

I think mine was done that way so a antique tag could be purchased for it. my bill of sale shows 1966 model. In Mississippi, any vehicle over 30 to 35 years old, qualifys for an antique tag, and you dont have to buy any more after that. I guess all states may have something like that???<img src="emoticons/icon_smile_vconf.gif" alt="Very Confused">

Well I fineally got enough paint scraped off the front and rear differentials to see some dates.<img src="emoticons/icon_smilie_bitchin.gif" alt="Bitchin">

Front;2-21-69
Rear;12-3-69

I was too lazy to check that middle one.<img src="emoticons/icon_smile_approve.gif" alt="Approve">
So I guess it aint a 1966 model(or more that likely not) Is there a place on the frame that has a date stamped on it also???
while doing some paint scraping on the front bumper, I noticed it had been painted Black before. three different shades of semi-gloss OD, and three or four different shades of lusterious OD. It has that SARC paint too, and that stuff is a great sealer, Tuff as rocks.<img src="emoticons/icon_smile_dork.gif" alt="Dork">

Was wondering if you found the mfg date yet?

Actually I was just looking for an old thread to rejuvenate since it is the "IN" thing to do.
