Did you do something to the server or forum paramaters?

The forum used to take awhile to load when opening (seemed like it would hang a lot) and I have Cable Broadband with 6 mbps download speed.

Changing topics would seem to take time (like I was using dial up) and the PM section was dreadfully slow.

Now it is instantaneous. Whatever you did to clear out the pipeline it is working.
