fort drum good or bad

hi i was wondering if fort drum is a good site. i bought a cucv truck from there an just waiting for the euc. i hear other stories of people who had parts stolen off of there trucks. how does fort drum rate for this?? thanks

I wouldn't worry much, they run a pretty tight yard there. I just hope your truck isn't the one I backed over the other day!

Can't say good or bad for the GL people at drum, just that I did 16 summer camps with the RIARNG at Drum and I always enjoyed it.

A beautiful part of the country, Water town, Thousand Islands. Our other encampments were in MA.,PA., and OK., and Drum is #1.

I did a preview of several deuces the week of July 4th. Kevin, the GL employee was with us the whole time and kept an eye on what we were looking at and addressed all questions. I think he keeps a good eye on the yard, nobody gets in or out without him escorting him on that day anyhow. Several folks picking stuff up and previewing, he only took and escorted one person/party at a time.

I can't give any guarantee of if anything can walk, I am hoping not anyhow since I won an auction and want the cargo cover to still be in the back of the deuce. I'll post ASAP if its not.

They can be kind of hard on trucks with a forklift. They didnt seem to care bout the brake pods on the back of my m915 and bent them up along with the lights,airlines etc...

My 813 was missing the alt, horn, dimmer, headlight bucket, p-brake cable end, and one injector pushrod inside the engine. I'd say they were all taken by army quite some time before the auction. For ex. the alt wire ends were taped up well, and long ago. The rocker box was swapped out and many bits were left loose inside. The yard guy, Kevin is very business like, which I consider a honorable thing. He called a pal an a 3 used pushrods appeared in 15 min. They were a bit diff but I took one and dropped it in, in the yard, and it ran fine. I think he runs a tight ship. Others may share the task(?). I did inherit 2 banged fenders (plowed) and a smashed tailgate (someone's been push'in a 22k truck from center of a sheet metal panel...). Tailights were banged and wires cut (old dam), Hard to say where and when all that fondling happened. Damage was visible in the GL pics. The tool box had lug wrenches, a TM, air hioses w/chucks nad gauge, a bottle jack... Truck came back from Iraq and they were sending it down the road for good reasons
