How much? That year would be a 12V and easily bumped up to 300 hp. But 100,000 miles of use in a bus sounds like some hard time. Any chance they have an hour meter on them? Unless you can get them dirt cheap I would keep looking.

no there is no hour meter i could get motor and trans for 2,500. each (one or all) 300 HP? WOW now that would zip my lil deuce right along down the road...prolly rip her in half all at the same time. any way one might be able to haggel a little bit with him too. or its back to the old 3208 paper weight.

For 2500 it would be worth it IMO. If I had $2500 I could blow without getting yelled at by the finance manager I would buy one. The engine will fetch about $2000-$2500 depending on how complete it is. And the Allison tranny's are going for just over $1000.

Put a TST plate on it and start pouring the black smoke!

BTW, you WILL need to use an intercooler with this motor. So think about where you will put that before you buy.

first, thanks for the link and then
dumb question#1 whats IMO stand for???

ok now that im a fool! the cummins is like 3 or 4 inches shorter than the herc so there might be room up front or move the headlights out and get a wider and skinyer after cooler. or last but not least move the radiator into the box right beside my fuel tank (16.00 R20's dont leave room for the stock side mount tank)then stash the cooler up front.

they sure didnt wast any room, the injection pump clears the steering box by a 1/2 inch, the winch drive shaft has about 3/8 at the bell and the winch is an inch from the radiator

thanks for the input
