telling 1C from 1D at a quick glance

can it be done? What exactly should you look for? Also, any easy ways to tell different years apart?

the 1C is more desirable right since they changed a bunch on the D for emissions?

The 1D has a larger intake side and exhaust side. That's it. The impellers on the 1C are smaller and rip the air past the speed of sound thus making the "whisle". Many people prefer the "whistler" turbo. However, I love my 1D because it's quieter and I like to drive 'Storm without getting a splitting headache and ringing ears for days after a drive.
