Live Chatted Heidi today.

Still holdin on for EUC ,auction won 7-9-09, submitted paperwork same day, and 7-24-09 GL sent it back to me for revisions, sent back same day and 7-27-09 it was out to battle creek.

From what Heidi told me they know when it gets to BC, and the wait window is 45 days from that, and it includes weekends/ holidays etc.

So mine actually got to BC on 7-29-09 after GL sent it, who knows how? , and Heidi said that I'm only waiting 27 days, so maybe that will shed a little more light on wait times and procedures.

I registered my sale through my legitimate business, which is in good standing with the US treasury, I send them checks on a monthly basis, Am I under more of a microscope because of this? I would have figured in being more credible with Uncle Sam.

Mine was submitted on 8/12/09 sent back for revisions the sameday. 8/13/09 resubmitted with corrections. 8/13/09 "sent to Battle Creek". Still there today.

I asummed the 45 days only counted bussiness days. I don't like the way Gl does that. As the buyer you have uphled you part and paid for the lot as well as submitted all the paperwork. At 45 days I think the buyer should be given the option to back out of the sale with a refund, or to continue with EUC process until they are either approved or denied. But since GL has a monoploy on it customer service doesn't matter.

However hiedi was very very helpful with me on the livechat. as well as the EUC specialist whose name I forgot.

I also assumed that approval days did not include weekends, I also agree that they should give the option to wait or back out at the 45 day mark, but who am I?

45 days is a time frame for worst case scenario. I'm currently working on my 7th EUC this year and the longest it's ever been at BC was 2 weeks. The usual hold up is at GL when you initially send the paperwork. It sits in someone's basket until they get around to it. I've found emailing it, faxing it, then following up via live chat on the 2nd business day afterward usually gets it moving fairly well. I've had 2 that I caught on the 2nd day that they said they couldn't find. If I had waited until they contacted me I probably would have had a default sale.

As far as "monopoly" goes, you have the choice not to buy from them. There are a lot of folks that have vehicles for sale if you prefer a shorter process. If you use GL to save money then you need to be willing to put up with any BS that comes your way.

They have the monopoly on buying it the surplus route. I know I can buy them from a private seller for 3-4X the price.

I emailed mine and followed up on live chat hours later. My hold up is at battle creek. Thursday it will have been there 3 weeks.

I just received my EUC from Battle Creek after a 3+ week wait after I e-mailed my application and supporting documents. I then received two subsequent EUCs after only a few days.

45 days does seem like a long time, but when you consider that your saving at least 1/2 of what private sales go for, your money ahead. After this they will go quicker. Be patient Wee Wacker, your time is near:wink:

The only gripe I have is that GL never notified me that my EUC needed
some corrections.

After 11 days I contacted GL to ask them why my status had not changed and was informed then that corrections were needed. Hell, I had to resend my EUC 3 times before they could find it.

I understand that nothing in the fed.gov runs efficiently, but this is very disappointing to say the least. They always say the squeaky wheel gets the grease, but I really hate to be "that guy"...

I will try to have a "Mel Fisher" attitude... "Today is the day..."

As a followup, neither will I put up with a defalcation by Battle Creek.
How did either GL or Battle Creek misappropriate your money? You paid for an item and you will either recieve that item or get your money back. Just because they're not working on your time schedule doesn't mean they've stolen your money.

For those bit*hing about GL's monopoly you have private sellers and other gov't entities including state, county, local, fire districts, etc where you can also buy these items. You choose the CHEAPEST way to buy and then whine because there's a different type of price to pay - TIME. You could WISH for it to go faster but my daddy always said "wish in one hand and crap in the other and see which fills up faster."

There's a hell of lot of other things in life more important than how quickly you get a truck that probably isn't a true necessity. Fact of the matter is if you have a roof over your head, food on the table, and your family is safe then you've got nothing to bitch about.

For me it's not the wait,,,,, well it is ,,,,,,but it's the fact that you, pay , wait, and then after a pre determined window 45 days, you're sale is cancelled, I'm not at that stage yet, but for everyone I think it's the unknown. I'm not a criminal, Owe no taxes, Own my home, No t even a parking ticket, Write the Treasury A healthy Check every month from my business, It just probably Ticks me off more.

The only way I could see to band to gether is to talk to your congressman, and tell them about GL. I don't have a gripe yet, yes they we're a PITA to deal with, but I knew it by bidding.

I'm shure others who buy from GL would be happy that some people cannot get their euc's , because it keeps the costs down (less bidders).

I'm not out for a witch hunt :p just trying to be patient as possible, I have no fingernails left, but still tryin.

The part that bugs me the most is that one of the first things you do after the auction is pay for your lot. That is understandable to me however once I pay for something, I expect the company to deliver. I can understand the hold up at battle creek. What gets me is at 45 if not approved or denied they cancel it, with no explanation. So the individual does get there money back, but how many deals might they have missed while there money was tied up with GL.

I think if your EUC is denied, fine nothing you or GL can do about it, it's out of GL's hands. But at 45 days if the EUC has neither been approved or denied, GL should check with Battle Creek, if they are just back logged, buyer should be notified that it may take a extended amount of time. If the paperwork was lost buyer should be allowed to resubmit the EUC.

In this day and age of superfast computers there is no reason the EUC cannot and should not be tracked the entire process.
