of those who have shipped their deuces, how many did it for over 2,500 miles, and how much did it cost? I see all kinds of shippers listed in MV magazine, but don't know how it would work. Would I need to wait for a truck to be out that way, do they go pick it up, are there certain fees for loading, etc.? Just looking for an honest cost effective alternative to flying out there and driving home

thanks!

Shipping is not cheap. If you're looking for the cheapest way to get your truck home go buy airline tickets. This means you're putting faith in quite a bit. Check the previous postings to see what I mean. You may be fortunate in getting a well maintained truck and not need any further assistance other than some fuel and oil. However, don't count on it. Plan to spend at least $1.50 a mile to have your truck shipped to you. Good luck!

I'd just wait for a truck west of the Mississippi. I know a guy that had a shop van shipped and it required a detach lowboy for height. Cost east to west....$6000.

I'd have to agree with Recovy4x4, there are alot of trucks for sale and or at auction in Cal. That would be just a hop, skip, and a jump for you from Reno <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_wink.gif" alt="Wink">

I can put you in touch with plenty of people, I got a buddy here that has several deuces for sale right now, we're about an hour from Reno (if you drive like I do)in fact I was in Sparks just yesterday.

OK Bill would ya like to share the "Wealth", I'm stuck here in Rifle Co. Fort "Cartoon" is about 280 miles from me But alas they rarely have the deuce up for bid (and when they do, the $ goes sky high!) But on the bright side, I sure like little old Rifle as opposed to say...?

that would be nice- my criteria is that it is in good mechanical shape, looks aren't that important. It won't be a resto, it'll be used. I need it to run good out of the box and be reliable at least for a while. My price range is in the lower end of the spectrum considering I'm not looking for a fresh looking one :) I've avoided eBay and DRMO at all costs just cause the horror stories I've heard.
