Cab Heater (coolant style) threw up today!

Hey,

I was just driving along and all of a sudden my feet got covered in coolant. My heater threw up a bunch of coolant inside and looks like some squeaked out the case inside the engine bay.

Anyone else have this happen?

Tomorrow I am going to take apart the "in engine bay" portion of it where the heater core is and see what happened.

I turned off the coolant lines going to the box for now so I don't loose anymore coolant!

ya the heater core blew a seam. I've seen it a few times. you should be able to replace the core with something you can find the the local parts store.

Problem solved:





I just plugged that hole where the vent used to be and it is hotter than ever. This particular heater core is off of a ford and your local parts store may have it in stock on a sunday like mine did!
