Plate on door is shipping & loading info, plate on pillar is vehicle info. Need to find out if it's an M1008 or M1028.

I've read on SS that the M1028 has additional rear spring leafs, not sure how many on the M1008 (GVWR 8800lbs) vs. the M1028 (GVWR 9400lbs). I think my M1028A1 has ten on each side.

Data plate for M1028

Look in the drivers side dash. There should be the normal civie vin plate at the bottom of the windshield. Get the numbers off of that and post it to the VIN info page. I should be able to pull it up from there. If it ain't there, there maybe still a label on the glove compartment. That could be swapped out pretty easy by changing the glove compartment door.

If your serial # starts 1GCG etc you have an M1008
1GCH etc you have an M1028 (or possibly an M1010 , they start that way also)
1GBH etc you have either an M1031 or M1028a1.
M1028a2s and M1028a3s are modified from M1028s and M1031s. If you have a NP205 transfer case instead of the NP208 you have an M1028a1. Hope this helps
