Here's a DARPA competition vehicle - the idea is to design the drivers out of the MV.
No guy in a trailer with a joystick either, they use sensors and artificial intelligence.

I have actually seen that truck close up. The entire MTVR platform is awesome! There are some fire departments in the Northwest buying them direct from Oshkosh/Pierce.

I watched the DARPA on TV it was a good race. The MVTR finished 5th overall I believe!
