That depends on your shop equipment.
Normaly for my understanding it is easier to pull the engine for the front mask is relatively easy to remove. This is also the oppinion of the Manual as far as I remember.
However, some shops prefer to remove the transmission and the transfer by some reasons. But they have the propper equipment.
Decide: What is easier to do for you: remove the drive shafts or disconnect some electrical harmess.

also, if and when you do pull her apart, be sure to check the welsh plugs and rear main for leaks on the motor aft. Check the retainer of the t90 to make sure there are no gear-oil leaks ... sucks have to do a clutch job twice.

I've had the motor out in under 2 hours. Pulled the fenders and grill. Easier for me, don't have to crawl underneath as much.

Inspect the rail plugs and top cover gasket. I've found that on occasion, the plugs would pop off creating gear oil to migrate down and get thrown around the whole underside via air turbulence,
