Hard to shift 2 to 3 gear

I have a mutt m151a1 jeep. I have just replace a seal witch i had to pull the power pack out and put it back. Now I have to jam the gear shift from 2 to 3 gear hard to get it in gear. How can I fix this prouble ?

well first, what seal did you replace. Did you take off the trans shift cover?

If you took off the shifting tower because you could get the shifter out might not have been in nutural. Before removing the tower be sure the transmission is in nueteral. But over all it sounds like you the the shifting forks are out of sequence.

If it wasn't in neutral and you go back with it will be frustrating to get it back in place. You will have to get the gears back in nuetral and bring the tower back in nuetral postion.
