Not so much an airplane as a 30 MM Gattling gun with wings attached to it.

We used to clean up Kilo Impact Area at Fort Benning, GA. The targets would hold up pretty good against the Apaches and Spectre Gunships.......once the "Warthogs" made a few passes all that was left was a series of holes connected by scrap metal.

If you were an Iraqi tank crewman during the Gulf Wars it pretty much sucked to be you if an A-10 happened along.

I saw them work out in Yakima Firing Center WA...er...not very recently ago (in training).

I think I'd rather P on Supermans Cape than mess with the A10
