parking brake

any tips on how to fix a chattering parking brake? that thing is very noisy and sounds like gears grinding sometimes. i have already checked and replaced the retainer riings for the shoes. it didnt help. also , my transfer case shifter is very sloppy. it rattles and bounces around while driving. is that normal?

FMB!

Check to make sure that the brake shoes aren't dragging on the drum! The springs that hold the shoes off the drum can break or could be missing!

My transfer case lever doesn' make noise or move around, it doesn't sound right to me! <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_shrug.gif" alt="Shrug">
