Inspection only during auction period?

Hi everyone, got 'nother question.

Called the local DRMO people to inspect some property that will be coming up on GL.

The lady informed me that they can only make appointments for auctions during the auction period itself. In other words, you cannot preview property before the start of the auction.

I find that kind of strange, never noticed it before. It seems like the few things I've previewed in the past, I have been able to preview before the auction even started.

With what they are doing now it sure seems like it would make both the buyer and the seller much more busy. Is it like this at most sites?

Never run across that. If no personnel are stationed at a particular site, preview times are restricted to appointments, when someone will be there.

I can understand that, makes sense.

But this is an active NG post. No GL personnel present on site, but you have to check in at the main post Warehouse and the Sgt in charge will escort you to the fenced yard where GL items are kept.

Not complaining, just find it odd. Seems like it could be handled better, but then again, I guess I should be satisfied with being able to have the opportunity to purchase some of this stuff.

Perhaps that is what the GL lady meant, but just misspoke.

Some places are run that way it was that way at great lakes in illinois before Noel started there no I dont think there is a problem veiwing at will as long as he is at the site.

You will find a lot of places have no previews at all. Sites not manned by GL. The GL reps are stationed at Riley here in Kansas and have to go to Salina for instance to list and allow pickups. No previews here, other than driving by the fence. I know there are some Oklahoma sites that way too..Glen

I got that word from Teresa at Redstone a few weeks ago (I may have mentioned it in one of my posts).

I was up there yesterday and inspected some trucks up for auction this week.....I was eyeballing some other ones and the guy escorting me reigned me in and said to stick to the ones up for sale now.

By the way.....if you are bidding on a M923 up there you may want to PM me for some inside information.

It's GL's game and they make the rules.

Wow, That sucks... maybe he was on a tight schedule and wanted you to hurry up

When i previewed some trucks down at Fort Indiantown Gap, The gentleman from GL let me in, and the only rule i got was not to drive the vehicles anywhere but straight forward and straight back. He then went about his job, He seemed to be busy taking pics and writing alot of stuff down, but he let me be. I looked at probably every truck in that lot that day and not a word was said about the ones that werent even listed online yet


i guess different sites have different rules?
